Our program stands out as the most thorough education on firearm safety and pistol shooting techniques in the Atlanta, Georgia area. It covers everything from firearm safety and handling to marksmanship fundamentals, concealed carry, and pistol maintenance. Unlike shorter, one-size-fits-all courses, this program goes well beyond the Basic Pistol Course—giving you real skills, real knowledge, and real confidence.

What You'll Learn

This is a 2-Day Comprehensive Basic Pistol Course designed for those who want to come away with a complete foundation of knowledge regarding the safe handling of pistols and basic marksmanship skills. You will not find a more complete education on safe firearm handling and pistol marksmanship in the Atlanta, Georgia region. This course includes basic firearm safety and marksmanship, but is more in-depth and expansive than the single-day Basic Pistol Courses.

 

The course consists of modules on pistol design, function, ammunition and selection, firearm selection, storage, maintenance, concealed carry aspects, a solid foundation of fundamental marksmanship skills, and most importantly, safe firearm handling practices. We will also discuss Georgia Constitutional Carry aka permit-less carry, along with the inherent risks, responsibilities and suggested protection from liability that you may incur in a self defense incident. This is a two day comprehensive course.

Day 1 will be a full day of in class instruction.

Day 2 will begin with a Stop The Bleed course, then move on to gun cleaning, in class simulation with inert firearms then ending the day on the range with live fire skill demonstration and drills.

This course includes classroom and range instruction on:

  • Firearm Safety: Proven safety rules and real-world application

  • Pistol Handling: Loading, unloading, and manipulation using dummy rounds

  • Pistol Design: Hands-on learning with multiple pistol types and actions

  • Ammunition Basics: Types, function, and proper selection

  • Maintenance & Storage: Cleaning techniques and secure storage solutions

  • Marksmanship Fundamentals: Grip, stance, sight alignment, trigger control, etc.

  • STOP THE BLEED

  • Concealed Carry: Overview of carry options and legal considerations

  • Legal Awareness: Intro to self-defense laws and firearm use

  • Live Fire Practice: High round-count instruction and drills

  • Test Drive Pistols: Experience different calibers and models

We value every student who chooses to train with South Atlanta Firearms Training and appreciate your support of our small business. To ensure fairness, consistency, and operational sustainability, we kindly ask that you carefully select your course and class date before registering.

Refund Policy:

Due to the administrative and financial challenges that refunds present for a small business like ours, we do not issue refunds for class cancellations, missed classes, or no-shows. This policy allows us to continue offering online payments, maintain affordable pricing, and reserve your seat in advance.

Prerequisite Requirements:

Please read and understand all prerequisite requirements listed for each course prior to registration. If a student registers but does not meet the stated prerequisites, they will not be eligible to attend, and no refund will be provided.

Rescheduling Options:

We understand that life happens. While refunds are not available, we are committed to working with our students whenever possible. If you contact us at least 72 hours before your class, and we have open seats in a future class, we will do our best to accommodate a one-time rescheduling.
