FFL INFORMATION
What Is a Federal Firearms License (FFL)?
A Federal Firearms License (FFL) is required by federal law for individuals or businesses that manufacture, import, or sell firearms and ammunition in the United States. Issued and regulated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), this license ensures that all licensed activities comply with federal standards.
Since the passage of the Gun Control Act of 1968, possessing an FFL has been legally required for anyone engaging in the commercial sale or transfer of firearms, whether across state lines or within a single state.
If you're purchasing a firearm online or from another state, the transfer must be handled through an FFL holder like South Atlanta Firearms Training to ensure all legal and background check requirements are met.
